J.D. Power and Associates Reports: Gene F. Cameron Joins J.D. Power and Associates as Executive Director of the Media Practice Area (Advertising Research)

Tom Healey Takes on New Role as Special Advisor to the Firm's U.S. Automotive Group

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Oct. 12 -- Gene F. Cameron has been named executive director of the media practice area (advertising research) at J.D. Power and Associates.

Mr. Cameron will be responsible for leveraging voice-of-the-customer data to help automotive manufacturers and their advertising agencies better target their marketing resources in magazines, newspapers, radio, television, Internet and cable TV.

Mr. Cameron will provide vision and create growth strategies for integrated media programs across traditional and Internet platforms for car and truck studies and for additional media-focused studies.

Prior to joining J.D. Power and Associates, Mr. Cameron was president and chief executive officer at BBDO/West Advertising. Mr. Cameron has also gained a vast amount of advertising and marketing experience in positions with other prominent advertising firms, including Ogilvy & Mather, Chiat Day, Inc. Advertising, Fotouhi Alonso Advertising and Mendelsohn/Zien Advertising.

Power and Associates. "His experience will serve as a strong foundation to push our research and consulting endeavors to the next level."

Mr. Cameron gained experience within the automotive industry developing advertising for Mitsubishi Motors, Porsche, Nissan and Chrysler. He also brings a wealth of knowledge in the financial, computer/Internet, consumer product, entertainment, healthcare and restaurant/retail industries through positions with companies such as Apple Computer, Nike and Bizrate.com.

Mr. Cameron received a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and received an MBA from The Wharton School.

Tom Healey, who has been instrumental in developing and expanding the J.D. Power and Associates media practice over the past 18 years, will continue with the firm as a special advisor reporting directly to Bob Reilly in the firm's U.S. Automotive Group.
