Armor Holdings, Inc. Announces $17.6 Million Order for Armor Components

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 11, 2005 -- Armor Holdings, Inc. , a leading manufacturer and distributor of security products and vehicle armor systems serving military, law enforcement, homeland security and commercial markets, announced today that it has received an order under its previously announced $53.5M Basic Ordering Agreement, to provide additional spare armor components for the Up-Armored HMMWV. The Company has received a $17.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command for ballistic glass windscreens to be delivered to the U.S. Army in 2006. Work will be performed at Armor Holdings' Fairfield, Ohio glass plant.

Robert Schiller, President of Armor Holdings, Inc., said, "This work provides replacement equipment to ensure continued armor protection for previously fielded HMMWVs in use by our military forces. Our spare parts business has grown, and we expect that, as the size of the fielded Up-Armored HMMWV fleet increases, so will the spare parts business. This particular order also adds to our backlog for 2006."
