MfgQuote Customer Arrow Engine Co. Named 'Supply Chain Innovator' for 2005

Supply Chain Systems Magazine Cites Company's $200,000 ROI and Newly Discovered Supplier Network

ATLANTA, Oct. 11 -- MfgQuote, the world's largest marketplace for sourcing and selling manufacturing goods and services, today announced that a leading manufacturing and logistics management publication has named MfgQuote customer Arrow Engine Co. of Tulsa, Okla., a "Supply Chain Innovator" for its lucrative use of the MfgQuote manufacturing marketplace.

"Arrow Engine Co. has saved $200,000 in just five months this year by sourcing parts on MfgQuote.com, the online marketplace for sourcing custom- manufactured parts," said David Andrews, editorial director of Supply Chain Systems magazine. "This return on investment reflects price savings on engine parts alone and does not include additional savings in travel, postage, phone bills, and research time recouped by avoiding the traditional, labor-intensive sourcing process. But in addition to the time and money savings, Arrow Engine has assembled a stable of new, previously unreachable suppliers using MfgQuote.com."

More than 43,000 buyers across the industrial spectrum (aerospace, transportation, consumer products, electronics and more) use MfgQuote.com to source, collaborate, and receive quotes online for over 200 manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal stamping, forging, plastic molding, metal fabrication and metal casting.

"Arrow Engine Co. is typical of the companies that use the MfgQuote.com marketplace to automatically discover new suppliers, securely execute RFQs, and respond more quickly and affordably to the fluctuating demands of their customers," said Mitch Free, president and CEO of MfgQuote. "We're finding in many cases that our free on-demand sourcing service extends, complements or even supplants traditional expensive supply chain management software systems."

For the Supply Chain Innovators 2005 awards, Supply Chain Systems magazine's editors looked for companies that successfully implemented supply chain management software and hardware, as well as changes in company processes. Each nomination was required to include a list of user contacts, and benefits achieved, some of which were provided on a confidential basis. Case studies published in the magazine from late 2004 through August 2005 were also reviewed.

The nominations were reviewed by several analysts at Boston-based AMR Research (www.amrresearch.com), and then voted on by Supply Chain Systems magazine (www.scs-mag.com) editors. Each editor was allowed to give a submission a vote of one to 10, with 10 being the most innovative, and one the least. The companies that received the highest number of votes are highlighted in the article, which appears in the October 2005 issue, available now.
