LOCAL FAVORITES RICHARDSON AND STINSON SCORE WINS AT CHAMPION RACEWAY'S NHRA
LUCAS OIL SERIES EVENT

EAGLE POINT, Ore. - NHRA's Northwest Division put its final
Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event of 2005 in the books. Drivers in 10
categories were racing for valuable in-division points leading to divisional
and national titles. Eliminations were originally scheduled to be completed
on Saturday but rain forced drivers in Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super
Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Comp and Sportsman Motorcycle to wait
another day.

When the final chapter was written Pacific Division Super Stock
competitor Greg Luneack of Vista, Calif., added to his points lead with a
win over Mike Lewis of Bonney Lake, Wash., who came into the event second in
the Northwest Division points standings. In Stock Eliminator, Tony Hewes of
Reno, Nev., beat out Renton, Wash., racer Bill Kost in the final. Brandon
Yoder of Gresham, Wash., bettered his position in the Super Comp point
standing after scoring a win over David Alves of Princeton, Calif. Grants
Pass Super Gas driver Ted Richardson went to the winner's circle after
beating David Biancalana in the final, and Mike Scheffler of Marysville,
Wash., earned the win in Super Street over Sunnyside, Wash.'s John
Dalrymple. The Top Comp winner was Randy Johnson of Bothelle, Wash., and
the runner-up wasDave Jackson of Poulsbo, Wash. Medord's Jerry Stinson was
the Sportsman Motorcycle winner over Buff Kobs of Coeur D'lene, Idaho.

In eliminations that were completed on Saturday, Joey Severance
picked up his first Top Alcohol Dragster win of the year, beating Medford's
Mike Austin in the final. Top Alcohol Funny Car veteran Bucky Austin scored
his third win with a final-round victory over Hank Coolidge of Sunburst,
Mont. Michael Stone of Tulare, Calif., also earned this third win of the
season in Comp Eliminator. Stone beat another Medford resident, Mark
Stewart, in the final.

Although this was the last Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event on
the Northwest Division calendar, racers can still earn out-of-division
points in other divisions.
