Tekkeon Upgrades Popular Miniature Cord-Free Headset to Bluetooth v1.2

TUSTIN, Calif., Oct. 6, 2005 -- Tekkeon today announced a Bluetooth v1.2 version of ezTalker(TM) mini, its popular cord-free miniature headset. ezTalker mini v1.2 supports new features provided by Bluetooth v1.2, including adaptive frequency hopping, and advanced calling features.

Adaptive frequency hopping technology minimizes interference between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios operating in the same environment. This means that users will notice reduced interference between ezTalker mini v1.2 and a wireless LAN.

With the upgrade to Bluetooth v1.2, ezTalker mini v1.2 supports two new advanced calling features: call waiting, which enables a user to answer an incoming call while connected to a call, then toggle between calls3/4directly from the headset; and call transfer to a mobile phone. The latter feature lets users transfer calls from the headset to the mobile phone, which was limited only to transfer from mobile phone to headset in Bluetooth v1.1. ezTalker mini v1.2 also supports calling features found in the previous version, including call reject, last number redial, mute/unmute, and voice dialing.

"Bluetooth v1.2 technology makes our popular little headset even more fun to use," says Karen Dillon, Tekkeon's director of sales. "And we were able to provide the new features without increasing the size or weight of the headset."

For high-quality audio, ezTalker mini is equipped with a chip antenna, and the angle of the speaker precisely directs sound to the ear canal. The headset's uni-directional microphone minimizes background noise by controlling the direction of speech.

This tiny headset weighs less than 14 grams (0.5 ounces) and measures just over two inches in length. The headset is worn over the ear, with or without the unobtrusive earhook, which easily swivels to be worn on either ear.

Equipped with a rechargeable lithium polymer battery, ezTalker mini provides up to five hours of talk time and 120 hours of stand-by time.

ezTalker mini v1.2 is compatible with Bluetooth v1.2 and v1.1 mobile phones. The new advanced calling features are available when ezTalker mini v1.2 is connected to a Bluetooth v1.2 mobile phone.

The MSRP for ezTalker mini v1.2 (ET2000 v1.2) is $79.95. The headset comes with a one-year limited warranty, and is currently available in retail and on-line stores, and from the Tekkeon store at www.Tekkeon.com.
