Hyundai Motor America Names Mark Barnes Vice President, Sales
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 5, 2005 -- Hyundai Motor America (HMA) President and CEO, Robert F. Cosmai, today announced that Mark Barnes has been named Vice President of National Sales for the company. Barnes will be responsible for all sales, sales operations, dealer development, field operations and overall dealer relations. He will report directly to the President and CEO.
Former Vice President of National Sales Edward Bradley announced that he would be leaving the company to pursue what he called "an exciting opportunity in the retail automotive area." Bradley said he was unable to provide further details at this time, but would be making a statement about his plans at a later date.
"Mark Barnes has again proved his effectiveness as a leader and results driven executive in his most recent assignment as Southern Region General Manager. I know he'll make a great contribution to our efforts to continue to grow sales in the United States market," said Cosmai.
Barnes was previously Southern Region General Manager and joined HMA in 2001 as National Manager of Sales Operations.
Barnes has been in the automotive industry for 25 years. Prior to joining Hyundai he worked from 1983 to 2001 for Nissan in a number of sales positions, eventually serving as Assistant Regional Manager.
He began his career with Ford Motor company as a parts and service zone manager.
Barnes graduated from Indiana State University and is married with one daughter.
