MIDWEST FOCUS SERIES ENDS SEASON SUNDAY AT ANDERSON
INDIANAPOLIS – The USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series gears up for
the final race of the 2005 season with this weekend’s two-day show at
Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Ind., the site of the most Midwest races in
the three-year series.
Leading the pack to Saturday’s preliminaries is points leader Tate Martz,
whose seven victories in 2005 have put him 213 points ahead of Stephanie
Mockler in the run for the championship. Of those seven triumphs, Martz won
his first race this year at the quarter-mile paved oval. The title will be
his second straight, as he used six wins last year to claim the series
championship.
Ford Focus Midget hot laps are scheduled for running at noon Saturday with
heat races set for 7 p.m. Features are set to kick off at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Ford Focus feature is scheduled for 30 laps.
