Sterling Marlin, No. 40 Coors Light Dodge

Banquet 400- Kansas Speedway Advance

No. 40 TEAM FACTS:

* Testing: Sterling Marlin and the Coors Light team spent two
days at Kansas Speedway last week in preparation for the 267-lap event
this weekend.

* Chassis: The Coors Light team will race chassis #507 this
weekend in the Banquet 400 at Kansas Speedway. This is a brand new
chassis to the Coors Light stable. The team took the car to the two day
test in Kansas last week.

* Cornhusker: Crew chief Steve Boyer hails from North Platte,
Nebraska, which is north of the Kansas Speedway. Boyer who took over
crew chief duties this year has been with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix
Sabates for five seasons. He first worked as an engineer with Jason
Leffler before teaming up with Marlin. He was Marlin's race engineer
for three seasons. During that time the team led the points for 26
straight weeks in 2002, had two wins, 11 top-five and 32 top-10
finishes. Boyer assumed the leadership role on the No. 40 Dodge with
six races remaining in the 2004 season.

* Kansas Stats: In four starts at Kansas Speedway, Marlin has
one top-five finish and one top-10 start. His average starting position
is 21st and his average finish is 27th.

* Last Year At Kansas: Sterling Marlin had trouble early on at
Kansas Speedway last year when the rear gear and drive shaft of the
Coors Light Dodge broke coming across the start/finish line for the
start of the Banquet 400. After several repairs, Marlin was credited
with a 34th-place finish.

* NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points standings: Marlin gained two spots to
27th position in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points standings after his top-10
finish at Talladega last weekend The No. 40 Dodge, however, is 25th in
owner points.

STEVE BOYER, CREW CHIEF QUOTES

"We went to Kansas for a two day test last week but because of rain we
had to cut our trip short. We have a brand new car this weekend and
Sterling felt that it handled well during the test. We felt we were
competitive with the other cars that were there testing and we are
looking forward to going to Kansas Speedway this weekend. The Coors
Light team had a strong showing last weekend at Talladega. Everyone
worked hard and we were able to get a top-10 finish. We hope to keep the
momentum going for this weekend.

"Kansas Speedway is my hometown track and I personally look forward to
going there for the race. I have a lot of family that is going to come
out and see me and I hope we can do well while they are there."
