Chrysler Jeep Superstores Join Operation Gratitude Sending Care Packages To Our Troops

Southeastern Michigan Chrysler Jeep Stores "Official Drop Off Points" For Donations To Benefit Troops

Part Of National Network Of 2,800 Jeep Dealerships For Launch Of New Jeep Commander Built In Detroit

DETROIT, Oct. 3 -- Chrysler Jeep Superstores in southeastern Michigan have partnered with the national not-for-profit Operation Gratitude to become "official drop off points" for non-perishable items which can be used for care packages to our troops.

The partnership occurs at the same time that Jeep is introducing its new Commander model. The announcement was made by Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association president Jim Schebil. Schebil also owns Fox Hills Chrysler Jeep in Plymouth, Mich.

Operation Gratitude sends letters and care packages to overseas troops, and has already sent more than 71,500 packages. Non-perishable wish list items include disposable cameras, pre-paid phone cards, handheld electronic games, commercially wrapped individual packets of trail mix, beef jerky, nuts, energy bars, sunflower seeds and hard candies.

The new Jeep Commander adds a three-row, seven passenger vehicle to Jeep's line-up. It is made at the Jefferson North Assembly plant in Detroit.

The Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association is made up of the 40 independently owned Chrysler Jeep Superstores in Southeastern Michigan from Monroe to Fowlerville and from Clinton to Port Huron.
