AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 3 -- Most golf fans dream about the opportunity to visit St. Andrews, Scotland, known world-wide as the "Home of Golf." Thanks to Chrysler and Golf Digest Publications, someone's dream will become a reality.
In conjunction with the Chrysler Club Championship amateur golf tournament, Chrysler and Golf Digest Publications will auction several exclusive golf experiences and memorabilia on eBay Monday, October 3 through October 13. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS) and American Junior Golf Associations (AJGA). Callaway Golf and The Golf Channel are also sponsors of the auction.
Interested bidders can visit http://www.ebay.com/chryslercc to place a bid.
Items for bid include: * A four-day, three night stay with two rounds of golf at Scotland's St. Andrews Bay Golf Resort and Spa * A full-day private lesson with professional golf instructor Jim Flick * A Chrysler Classic of Tucson Aquafina Pro-Am experience * A private club fitting at Callaway Golf that includes two Big Bertha Fusion drivers plus an overnight stay and round of golf for two at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
"The Chrysler Club Championship eBay auction is an exciting opportunity for golf fans to bid on some highly sought-after golf experiences," said Jeff Bell, Vice President - Chrysler. "Most importantly, it's also a way Chrysler Group and Golf Digest Publications can join with golf fans to raise much needed funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and American Junior Golf Association."
Proceeds will fund research and programs to help find solutions to end the effects of MS and also will enable the AJGA to provide college golf scholarships to young men and women through competitive junior golf.
About the Chrysler Club Championship
The Chrysler Club Championship, presented by Golf Digest Publications, is an amateur golf competition for men and women that is played in a series of matches at local, regional and national levels. Regional winners advance to the national finals, a two-day tournament played in conjunction with the PGA Tour's Chrysler Championship on October 28-29 at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla. The male and female winners at the finals will receive the opportunity to play in the 2006 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (January 16-22, 2006) with celebrities and some of the best golf professionals in the world.
Chrysler has been affiliated with golf for most of its history. In fact, 2005 marks the 40th anniversary of Chrysler's participation in golf, which began when it first sponsored the Bob Hope Classic in 1965.
"Golf has long been an integral part of the Chrysler Brand, and is a sport that reflects the character of both the brand and the millions of Chrysler owners," said Bell. "The style and sophistication of the Chrysler 300, Chrysler Crossfire and Chrysler Town & Country are perfectly at home at country clubs across the U.S."
The Chrysler Brand also sponsors four professional golf tournaments. The remaining tournament in 2005 is the Chrysler Championship, scheduled for October 24-30 in Tampa, Fla.
