DALLAS, Sept. 30 -- John Sorter of Watauga, Texas was named the Mega Buckle winner during the "Dodge Mega Livin', Mega Givin'" biggest belt buckle contest at the State Fair of Texas Friday, Sept. 30, 2005. The contest, which is a part of a 'larger-than-life' celebration, is helping to raise money for the American Red Cross to benefit local Texas hurricane relief efforts.

Sorter was named the "mega" winner in the Mega Buckle contest with a belt buckle measuring 16 inches in length and width combined.

"When I left the house this morning, my wife asked me 'why are you wearing that?'" Sorter said. Now he'll be able to tell her it was for the Dodge Mega Livin', Mega Givin' biggest belt buckle contest at the fair.

The contest was one of six "mega" contests being sponsored by the Dodge Ram Mega Cab(TM) in recognition of all things "mega" in Texas. To honor the large size of Texans' hearts, Chrysler Group will donate $25 on behalf of the first 100 participants in each of the six contests to the American Red Cross to benefit local hurricane relief efforts for a total of $15,000.

As a mega winner, Sorter walked away with a Mega Livin' Gift Package that included his choice of a getaway to an exclusive hotel or a Mega Livin' Sports experience.

The contests kick-off the Dodge brand's Mega Livin', Mega Givin' celebration at the Dodge Truck display which introduces Texans to the new 2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab(TM). Sporting the largest pickup cab ever, Dodge Ram Mega Cab will be displayed with other super-sized "mega wonders" such as the largest pair of authentic cowboy boots and a super-sized HEMI-powered tricycle. The week's activities culminate with a free benefit concert Friday, Oct. 7 at the Smirnoff Music Center.
