Chicago NHRA Pre-Race
Moorpark, Calif. - (September 29, 2005) The Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle
riders have the next two races off, but let’s take a look at the NHRA
POWERade points and see how our Ringers racers are doing with only four races left
in the season.
Ringers pilot Tony Schumacher sits atop of the Top Fuel points, while fellow
Ringers racer Larry Dixon watches in second place, only 100 points back from
Shoe.
Two more Ringers pilots sit in the top 10; Morgan Lucas, still looking for
his first career win, is currently fifth with Brandon Bernstein in sixth.
In Funny Car, five Ringers drivers convene in the lower portion of the top
10. Starting with fifth place, Ron Capps; Tommy Johnson, Jr., sixth; Whit
Bazemore, seventh; Tony Pedregon, coming off his first win since 2003, ninth and
his brother Cruz in 10th.
Reigning POWERade Pro Stock and Mac Tools U.S. Nationals champion Greg
Anderson continues to lead the son/father duo of Kurt Johnson and Warren Johnson
in Pro Stock points.
KJ sits in second 176 points behind Anderson, while his father WJ is 100
points back.
Anderson’s teammate Jason Line is fourth, young gun Dave Connolly in fifth
