Parrot Welcomes WaveBlue as California Marketing Partner; Bluetooth Car Kit Maker Aggressively Pursues U.S. Market
SAN FRANCISCO--Sept. 29, 2005--Parrot, the world's first company to produce Bluetooth(R) car kits, has named WaveBlue, based in Santa Monica, California, as a new marketing and sales partner to handle distribution and sales support of its full line of Bluetooth car kits in the California market."Parrot is moving aggressively to broaden our distributor base in the U.S. and especially in the western states," said Christophe Dissaux, executive vice president of Parrot, Inc. "With the WaveBlue management team's experience and success with our product line in Europe, and their knowledge of the California market, we believe that it's the right company to help us on the West Coast where drivers need hands-free phone function as part of the California lifestyle."
WaveBlue was formed by Jesus Olivares and Cristina Sanz, co-founders of Inpro Tecnologia of Spain, and California native Jon Elliott who serves as WaveBlue's managing director. Inpro is one of Parrot's leading distributors in Europe. The company first became associated with Parrot in the year 2000 after executives of the two firms met at an industry event in Italy.
"With the growing popularity of Bluetooth technology, the driving habits of Californians, and hands-free legislation looming in various states across the country, the demand for Parrot's Bluetooth car kits is set to take off," said Sanz. "When you look at the number of cars in the U.S. and the increase in the number of Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, it's very clear that the U.S., and California in particular, are ready for Parrot."
Parrot, first in the world to develop Bluetooth car kits, now offers a range of products from the Plug & Play Easydrive that plugs into any vehicle's cigarette lighter, to the CK3500 fleet management system, to a variety of factory-installed Bluetooth(R) solutions. WaveBlue will focus on Parrot's aftermarket products, all of which are universally compatible with the vast majority of Bluetooth phones regardless of carrier or manufacturer.
"Our plan is to aggressively build relationships with California's mobile electronics installers. That's been the model for our success in Europe, because having highly trained, professional installers recommending and installing our products builds confidence in our brand among consumers who want to put Bluetooth in their cars," said Cristina Sanz.
Parrot's advanced car kits have all the Bluetooth features consumers need: Caller I.D.; up to 200-name phone book; voice recognition for true hands-free use; advanced noise reduction technology for superior sound quality; 7-language voice recognition capability; upgradeable software through downloads from www.parrot.biz; and a one-year warranty. Parrot is dedicated solely to development, testing and manufacture of in-vehicle Bluetooth applications and products. This is why the company has gained a worldwide reputation for having the best-performing Bluetooth car kits available. Parrot's car kits include the new CK3200 LS-COLOR, which includes a color LCD screen for caller-ID with photos, and the CK3400 LS-GPS, which includes navigation functions.
