Bosch's Hyman and Vogt Recognized Among 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Sept. 28 -- Robert Bosch Corporation's Sheryl Welsh Hyman, senior vice president, original equipment sales for Asian, European and heavy duty customers and Sylvia B. Vogt, vice president, corporate affairs for the Americas region, have been named among 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. Hyman, Vogt and other honorees were featured in a special Sept. 26 issue of the publication.
100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry recognizes women who are leaders in the automotive field -- those who make major decisions and have significant influence at their companies. Automotive News published its first listing of the industry's top female executives in September 2000.
"We are honored to have two of the top 100 leading women in the auto industry representing Bosch," said Kurt Liedtke, chairman, president and CEO, Robert Bosch Corporation. "Both Sheryl and Sylvia have contributed a great deal to the success of our company. We are proud to call them our own."
Hyman has been with Bosch for almost 20 years. During that time, she has represented Bosch in numerous sales and marketing positions, and worked with every major automotive OEM in North America. In her current role, Hyman and her team have increased sales substantially among Bosch Asian, European and heavy-duty customers. She earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Lafayette College, Easton, Pa. and a master's degree in business management from the University of South Carolina.
Vogt has been with Bosch since 1994, representing Bosch in various legal, contract management and communications positions. In her current role, Vogt is responsible for the Bosch strategic long-term planning as well as communications and external affairs in the Americas. She has been a major catalyst in activities to strengthen Bosch's brand and reputation in North America. Vogt earned both her undergraduate and master's degrees in law from the law school at the University of Cologne, Germany.
The 2005 class of Automotive News' 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry emerged from a months-long nomination and judging process that attracted hundreds of entries from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
