Freescale Selects Kurt Twining to Lead Human Resources; Company Plans to Put More Resources into Developing Leaders and Creating a High-Performance Culture

AUSTIN, Texas--Sept. 28, 2005--Freescale Semiconductor has named Kurt Twining senior vice president of human resources. Formerly general manager, southwest region, of the Hay Group, Twining will oversee Freescale's global human resource function reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Michel Mayer.

"Kurt brings Freescale a rich and diverse, 24-year background in human resources, helping build high performance cultures at several large companies," Mayer said. "He is an important addition to our executive team."

At the Hay Group, Twining provided senior counsel to major U.S. corporations in addition to managing operations for the Southwest United States. He previously served as the senior vice president of human resources at AmeriServe and vice president of human resources at PepsiCo's food systems divisions. Twining started his career in human resources at Texas Instruments.

He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology and a master's degree in industrial labor relations from Michigan State University.
