"The response to DIRTVision has been fantastic," said Matt Thomas, DIRTVision Producer. "We had more than 80 live and on-demand events last year that ranged from the World of Outlaws Sprints and Late Models to the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series, 358s, Pro-Stock and Sportsman classes.
"We plan to have even more live events for 2006," continued Thomas. "With The Outdoor Channel on the road covering 34 events we hope to be able to work with them to cybercast many of the preliminary World of Outlaws Sprint Series events live on DIRTvision. We're also talking to SPEED Channel about making some of our DIRT Northeast and Late Model events available on their new on-demand video web site. A bigger schedule of live cybercasts combined with more enhanced features such as live race results, multiple-room text chat and trivia giveaways are the focus for 2006."
"The executives at DIRT Motorsports have created an impressive video based on-demand, transactional portal where dirt track fans can follow and enjoy the races on a live or time shifted basis via the web" said Kevin Annison, VP Business Development & Operations for SPEED Channel. "DIRTVision is well ahead of the curve making this technology available to their fans. SPEED Channel has interest working with DIRTVision to make some races available on Speedtv.com in the near future as well."
This year's DIRTVision "October Cyberfest" features live video cybercasts of the 358 Modified Super DIRT Series Goulds Pumps "Support to the Troops" 150 on Saturday, October 8th and the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series Eckerd 200 on Sunday, October 9th. World of Outlaws fans will also be able to try out the interactive text chat during DIRT Radio Network live audio broadcasts free of charge through the entire month of October.
"DIRTVision gives our corporate and series sponsors additional exposure through announcements, commercial spots and web banners," said Thomas. "We've already done promotions with race publications such as Gater News and Flat Out Magazine as well as sponsors such as Hot Stuff Foods and Hoosier Racing Tires.
"DIRTVision gives the teams the ability to listen to the race from their trailers," continued Thomas. "We also have many friends and family members of the drivers that jump on the text chat occasionally. It makes it an exciting experience for the fans even if they can't be sitting in the grandstands."
"DIRTVision gives us the opportunity to increase exposure of the sport of dirt track racing on all levels, develop additional streams of revenue and increase sponsorship value for the Company," said DIRT Chairman and CEO Paul A. Kruger. "Our broadcast production studio in New York has been a great resource not only for DIRTvision but for our World of Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series shows which air on SPEED Channel."
