AUTOBOOKS-AEROBOOKS IN BURBANK ACQUIRES
MISS INFORMATION-AUTOMOTIVE CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Burbank, Calif. - - “We feel that we're going from strength to strength,” said Autobooks-Aerobooks owner Chet Knox announcing that the one of the most respected monthly motoring publications, Miss Information's Automotive Calendar of Events, will now be published under the aegis of the legendary 54 year-old specialty bookstore located in Burbank, California.
“We've been the book's top-producing retail outlet for many years now. So when the opportunity was presented for ownership we knew it was just a perfect fit for us. We're very proud to become its publisher,” said Knox.
Founded by the original “Miss Information” Bobbiedine Rodda over 20 years ago, Miss Information's Automotive Calendar of Events has become the leading printed source of the latest news about all things automotive in the southland and beyond. Along with hundreds upon hundreds of accurate automotive event listings, the book features columns written by automotive experts (including Bobbiedine herself), and a wealth of club and business contact information.
Thoroughly updated every month, this 'car nut's bible' is relied on by thousands of people who only set their personal fun time calendars AFTER they go through the pages of the “ACE”. “Our plan is to continue all of the features that have made this publication such an integral part of the southland automotive scene,” said Knox, “… and to add a couple of new items that we think will really enhance the experience for our readers.”
“One of our own, Greg Lovell, will take over the Editor's chair, his prior magazine experience is wide-ranging, and his attention to detail and enthusiasm for the project will serve him well in this new assignment,” Knox concluded. Lovell will also be working the marketing and advertising side of the street, representing the publication to clubs, businesses, event promoters and other potential advertisers.
“The people who read 'ACE' are top prospects for all sorts of automotive goods and services, they all love cars, they all use their cars (they all own more than one!), and they strongly support the people and products that support their own auto-centric lifestyle,” said Lovell. We're really looking forward to this great new addition to the Autobooks experience.”
The first edition of Miss Information's Automotive Calendar of Events under the new Autobooks Publishing label will be the November 2005 issue.
