TransCore Provides Carriers Direct Web Access to ACE Compliance System; CrimsonLogic Software Helps Carriers Meet Mandatory U.S. Regulations Efficiently

HARRISBURG, Pa.--Sept. 27, 2005--TransCore's Link Logistics introduces a Web-based application that helps carriers streamline compliance with new automated commercial environment (ACE) regulations set forth by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency. ACE (release 4) regulations are expected to become mandatory at all 91 border crossings within the next six months and will require carriers crossing the border into the United States from Canada or Mexico to pre-notify CBP with shipment information up to an hour before trucks actually arrive at the border.

TransCore's new offering allows carriers to directly submit to the ACE system via the Web without relying on a third-party broker, as in the past. This solution is available at TransCore's online portal for carriers, www.loadlink.ca, with three pricing plans offering volume discounts.

TransCore entered into a marketing agreement with CrimsonLogic (North America) Inc. to use its Web-connectivity software application for ACE compliance. CrimsonLogic was the first Canadian company to be accredited by CBP to offer Web-connectivity directly into the ACE system. CrimsonLogic's solution was designed to handle all shipment information protocols currently in use, including BRASS, PAPS, In-Bond and Section 321. Carriers will no longer need to rely on third-party brokers to make sure required information is submitted to CBP. Direct control can help carriers avoid steep fines if a broker fails to notify CBP far enough in advance of a shipment arriving at the border crossing.

The new product is designed to streamline operations and paperwork and enhance overall supply chain management. Carriers will have the capability to integrate with their existing technology and that of trading partners. The new service is particularly appropriate for enterprises that would benefit from not having to make a major IT investment in purchasing and continually updating their own trade-and-supply management software and servers.

The new product is designed to be simple, flexible, scalable and reasonably priced. TransCore will offer three different pricing plans -- bronze, silver and gold -- that provide volume discounts for carriers who have a higher number of monthly border transactions.
