WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Sept. 25, 2005) - ArcaEx driver Dario Franchitti passed two cars on the
opening lap of the race and went on to post a third-place finish in Sunday's running of the Indy Racing LeagueŽ
IndyCarŽ Series Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International.
In the midst of varying pit strategies, the ArcaEx team stayed on its two-stop plan, which saw Franchitti
occupy the fourth position for much of the middle stage of the 60-lap event. When the pit stop cycle finally ended
with 10 laps to go, Franchitti found himself in the third spot, trialing only eventual winner Scott Dixon and Team
7-Eleven teammate Tony Kanaan, who wound up finishing second.
Rounding out the top five behind Franchitti were Giorgio Pantano and Klein Tools/Jim Beam teammate
Dan Wheldon, who officially clinched the 2005 IndyCar Series championship with his 12th top-five finish of the
season.
Through 16 events, Franchitti remains fourth in the driver point standings with 448 points, 34 points shy
of third-place Sam Hornish Jr.
The final event of the 2005 season for Franchitti and the rest of the IndyCar Series teams is the
California Indy 400 at California Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 16. The event will be televised live by ESPN,
beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT). It can also be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into Extreme
XM, channel 152.

Dario Franchitti, #27 ArcaEx Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We fought an understeering car all weekend. We made some changes to try and make it not
understeer and the conditions went the same way, so we ended up with a horrendously loose car. But, third
place is not too bad. We fought all day. I pushed as hard as I could. The ArcaEx guys did a great job in the pits
today. I've been pretty hard on them the past month or so, but they did a great job. Dan winning the
championship is good, so we'll take it."

Kyle Moyer, General Manager, Andretti Green Racing:
"Scott Dixon had the quickest car, but I believe we had the second-quickest car out there. We got as
many points as we could and tried to move Dario into third in the championship. It was a good day all around.
A third-place finish is good to get us going into Fontana."
