ZAP Celebrates Eleventh Anniversary in Business

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--Sept. 23, 2005--Transportation pioneer ZAP (PCX:ZP) celebrated its eleventh year in business Friday.

Based in Santa Rosa, California, ZAP has come a long way since its beginnings in Alameda, California selling electric motor kits for bicycles. Established in an era of record gas prices as well as rising concerns about the environment, energy security and economic uncertainty, ZAP forged ahead with a bold, grass roots campaign to introduce affordable, energy-efficient transportation. Fast forward to 2005, it seems that the world needs answers to these concerns more than ever.

At the time of its inception, ZAP set out to prove that a market existed for new types of transportation like electric bicycles and scooters that are practical and effective for consumers around the world. Eleven years later, ZAP has delivered more than 90,000 vehicles to customers in 75 countries and ZAP CEO Steve Schneider says the Company has set its sights even higher to the auto industry.

"Today, I believe ZAP is one of the most recognizable names and one of the most experienced companies in advanced transportation," said Schneider. "One thing is clear: whether you are smart, lucky, or know the right people, there is no substitute for experience. After eleven years, I believe ZAP to be one of the most experienced companies in this industry and I think our news this week gives a glimpse of where the future will take us."

This past week, ZAP announced an exclusive agreement to import OBVIO!(TM) Urban Cars from Brazil. The small, fuel-efficient automobiles are expected to be available in 2007. ZAP also announced this week that it has obtained a $425 million revolving line of credit to finance the importation of cars for distribution in the United States.

"ZAP stands for Zero Air Pollution, and I believe this is a vision of the future that is much closer than anyone even expects," said Schneider. "Stay tuned as we expect to unveil several innovations at the San Francisco International Auto Show in November."

Schneider added that ZAP has received thousands of inquiries over the past several weeks from car buyers, distributors and potential partners from all over the world interested in ZAP vehicles. To learn more about ZAP, visit www.zapworld.com.
