Carrington Signs License Agreement With Racing Legend Johnny Rutherford

IRVING, Texas, Sept. 22 -- Carrington Laboratories, Inc. today announced it has entered into an exclusive, worldwide licensing agreement with car racing legend Johnny Rutherford, 3-time Indianapolis 500 winner and member of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Carrington and Mr. Rutherford will collaborate in the development and marketing of Johnny Rutherford's Tuff-Skin(TM), a specialty line of products to clean, protect, and restore skin. Products will be designed especially for professional and weekend mechanics and car enthusiasts.

By utilizing Carrington's innovative product development team and proprietary raw materials, Johnny Rutherford is creating products for use by car and racing enthusiasts. These products will be marketed under the Johnny Rutherford's Tuff-Skin(TM) brand to the automotive aftermarket and other niche markets.

Johnny Rutherford stated, "From being around cars and the racing industry for most of my life, I understand the need of quality products that makes working on cars for both professional and weekend mechanics a little easier. These products I am developing with Carrington will do that by offering fast, easy cleaning of the hands and protection during the process. Carrington's products are used to heal wounds in critically-ill patients, so I know they will be able to produce a quality product that I will be proud to put my name on."

The Johnny Rutherford's Tuff-Skin(TM) line is expected to have a regional launch later this year with a special pre-showing November 1st through 4th at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, an industry convention that serves the motor vehicle aftermarket.

About Johnny Rutherford

Johnny Rutherford, also know to racing fans as "Lone Star JR," began racing in 1959. During his highly successful career, Mr. Rutherford was the National Sprint Car Champion in 1965, and became a household name with his first Indianapolis 500 mile race win in 1974. He followed that win with victories at Indy in 1976 and 1980. In addition to his Indianapolis 500 win in 1980, Mr. Rutherford also won the US Auto Club Championship and was CART champion. During his years in Indianapolis-type racing, Mr. Rutherford started in 315 races, won 27 races, and took 23 pole positions. In 500-mile races, he is tied for third with Mario Andretti, with 59 career starts, 5 wins, 6 second-place, and 25 top-ten finishes. In 1987 Johnny Rutherford was inducted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, and Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Today, Johnny Rutherford is the special events director of the Indy Racing League (IRL). Among his duties, Mr. Rutherford drives the pace car at all the IRL events and enjoys working with the rookie drivers.
