NAVTEQ(R) Map Data Selected to Power Zapptrio's MyRoutz Application

Navigation Application Available for Use on GPS-Enabled Cell Phones

CHICAGO, Sept. 22 -- NAVTEQ , a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, has been selected to supply its digital map data to Zapptrio's MyRoutz proprietary vector-based mapping engine. Zapptrio, a leading producer and distributor of content for mobile handsets, has licensed NAVTEQ(R) map data for North America.

The MyRoutz application is a server based turn-by-turn navigation solution for GPS-enabled cell phones, that features turn-by-turn voice guidance and real-time mapping tools to pinpoint locations and direct users to desired destinations. Using a real human voice that speaks commands rather than a standard text-to-speech synthesizer, users can find an easy and fast way to get where they are going, as well as convenient points of interest along the way. Zapptrio completed a thorough analysis of how the map can affect the perception and actual experience of the navigation solution. NAVTEQ was able to meet the high quality map demands necessary to power a highly efficient solution, such as the MyRoutz application.

NAVTEQ has built a map database of the highest quality and precision, employing one of the industry's most comprehensive development and quality control programs, executed by an extensive team of over 500 field researchers. Globally, NAVTEQ delivers data to the same database specification utilizing the same technology at a consistently high level of quality and support.

"With MyRoutz, Zapptrio has taken an application used by over one million subscribers in Asia and fully customized it for the North American subscriber's driving lifestyle," said Annette Friskopp, President and CEO for Zapptrio. "Using highly reliable NAVTEQ data as the cornerstone of the MyRoutz application, consumers will experience easy routing including voice guidance and points of interest such as hotels and restaurants."

"As the LBS industry continues to gain momentum in North America, NAVTEQ encourages the development of new applications, such as MyRoutz by Zapptrio," commented Winston Guillory, Senior Vice President - North America Sales, NAVTEQ. "NAVTEQ is excited to collaborate with Zapptrio as their solutions are introduced in North America."
