Pro Challenge
Barrie Honda/Georgian Pontiac//Thermoseal Industries Monte Carlo finishes a
strong seventh in final points.
SUNSET SPEEDWAY, STROUD, ONTARIO In front of a home crowd, Holgate
Motorsports was looking to put the finishing touches on its first year in
the Ontario Pro Challenge Series with the Barrie Honda/Georgian
Pontiac/Thermoseal Industries Monte Carlo. Driver Brad LeLiever has shown
tremendous promise during his first year, which has earned him the Rookie
of the Year award for 2005.
"It has been a learning year that's for sure," said team Principal John
Holgate. "The series has really helped us, as have the Nicholsons and
Dennis Thomson. The last couple of races have been a little tough on us,
but already we are looking forward to next year."
LeLiever's run to Rookie of the Year has been a little bumpy at times, but
he's taking it all in stride and looking forward to his sophomore year.
"You know, it is a lot harder than it looks," LeLiever said. "There is so
much more to know. The racing is different, the passing is different, and
all our cars are the same. I know the experience I got this year will help
next year. I have to thank Holgate Motorsports for giving me a competitive
car week in and week out. Also, thanks to Barrie Honda, Georgian Pontiac
and Thermoseal for all their support."
With the Ontario Pro Challenge Series done for the year, John Holgate says
he will give team members a little break before getting ready for next
year. "Our Barrie Honda/Georgian Pontiac/Thermoseal Monte Carlo held up
well this year," Holgate said. "We will take a few weeks off now and then
we will begin the process of getting ready for next year. We have some work
to do, but with all we learned this year, next year should be a good year
for us."
