Nissan Rallies Employees Nationwide; Provides Ongoing Support to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina; Nissan Affiliates Send Truckload of Goods to Salvation Army of Texas

IRVING, Texas--Sept. 19, 2005--Representatives from Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today presented the Salvation Army with a check for more than $27,000 and a truckload of donated goods from Nissan employees across the country. The donated money and goods will help victims of Hurricane Katrina who have temporarily relocated to Texas.

"If there was ever a time to come to the aid of a neighbor, now is it," said Jeff Edwards, vice president at Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) Dallas, Nissan's captive finance company which has its customer center in Dallas. "I am proud to see Nissan employees across the country reaching deep and donating to help their neighbors in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama who are coming to Texas for help. These goods will go a long way toward making a difference in the lives of people who've lost everything."

A tractor-trailer full of water, canned goods, baby food, diapers, new clothing, and luggage arrived at the Dallas Salvation Army warehouse this morning. The donated items were collected from Nissan employees at the Nissan Dallas Campus as well as Nissan offices in Southern California and Memphis, Tennessee. Employees also donated thousands of dollars raised through fundraisers at the Nissan Dallas campus.

"This is the largest emergency-response event in the organization's 126-year history and we are truly appreciative of Nissan's humanitarian efforts. This donation will help us support the thousands of evacuees that have relocated to Dallas, Houston and other parts of our state," said SALVATION ARMY representative Major Bill Mockabee, area commander for the Greater Dallas Metroplex Area Command.

NMAC, along with the American Financial Services Association Education Fund, donated 10,000 brochures titled, "When Natural Disaster Strikes." These brochures will be distributed at Salvation Army shelters throughout the state of Texas. They are designed to help disaster victims manage their finances during a catastrophe like Hurricane Katrina.

"Many victims don't realize lenders like NMAC have programs in place to help victims of natural disasters get back on their feet," said Steve Lambert, president of NMAC, which is headquartered in Torrance, California. "This brochure will give them the basic information they need to manage their finances through this difficult time."

Since the Hurricane Katrina disaster, NNA has: provided $500,000 in financial assistance to the American Red Cross; donated 50 trucks and SUVs to the Mississippi Emergency Management Administration (MEMA); donated goods to support its employees directly affected in Mississippi; donated goods to the American Red Cross of Mississippi; offered gift matching for its employees; allowing payment deferral on vehicle loans and leases; and is in the process of forming a new non-profit entity to reduce hardship and provide financial and other assistance to survivors and victims of disasters, who are in need and distressed, and who are current or former employees (including their extended family members) of Nissan North America, Inc., its affiliates, Nissan and Infiniti dealers and dealerships, and any other needy persons.

In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
