'Hot Rod' Fuller Battles to Regain Top 10 Points Standings
HOUSTON, TX 9/19/05 This weekend's NHRA Fall O'Reilly Nationals in
Dallas presents the perfect opportunity for "Hot Rod' Fuller, driver of
the Houston-based David Powers Motorsports Top Fuel dragster to reclaim
his position in the Top 10 points. The team stands only 52 points away
from their goal and there's no better place to reach it than the famous
Lone Star State.
"It's everyone's objective to get back in the points running this coming
weekend," said David Powers, team owner. "Our operation originated in
Houston and with Dallas being so close to home, this is one race we
would really like to win."
The team chose to run a limited first season but plans to run all events
in 2006 and beyond. However, even with the team's limited schedule they
have still managed to stay competitive and right behind the number 10
position.
"Not only are we out to regain our points standing," said Fuller. "We're
our also proud to announce that The 84 Lumber Company will be on as one
of our sponsors along with Valvoline and Mac Tools."
84 Lumber has been a part of Power's homebuilding success and has
continued to support him in his other interests. The 84 Lumber Company
is the largest privately-held building materials supplier to
professional contractors in the country. With more than 9,500 associates
nation wide they are able to provide professional contractors,
remodelers and serious do-it-yourselfers with quality building
materials, supplies and expertise.
"Powers has a great relationship with 84 Lumber from his custom
homebuilding company," stated an enthused Fuller. "I'm pretty pumped to
show all of them what this Top Fuel dragster can do."
