Tyler Brown wins at Sunset Speedway
Tyler Brown collects heat race win in series finale for 4B Racing
SUNSET SPEEDWAY, STROUD ONTARIO Assante Dodge Intrepid driver Tyler Brown
had a 'career' night going into the feature of the final Ontario Pro
Challenge Series race of the year. Brown had shown good speed since
becoming the youngest driver to compete in the series. Then after
completing his rookie orientation, he was ready to take his 'regular' spot
in the field. It didn't take long for Brown to show, not only his speed,
but his passing skills as he made a dramatic last corner pass in the second
heat race to record his first win in the series.
"Getting my first win racing against the guy who has always offered me
advice every step of the way as I have advanced in my racing career made
this win special," said Brown after beating mentor Russ Bond for the win.
On the Ontario Pro Challenge web (www.prochallengeracing.com) site Brown is
listed as young gun determined to become top gun. It only took him to his
second official start to become the top gun in the second race on Saturday
night
"I also have to thank my dad who has worked every spare moment these last
two weeks getting the car to this point after we had a bad wreck 2 weeks
ago," Brown added.
Brown lined up fifth for the feature, but a cut tire on the warm up lap
sent him to the pits, and he was unable to make the start of the race. But
even that couldn't take the smile of the 14-year-old's face. "It was so
cool tonight to finish off the season this way, I got my first win, my
brother Nathan was riding in the pace car for that race and we had a lots
of family and friends there as well"
