Tony Pedregon Opens Weekend in Fourth
Q Racing Solid in First Day of Reading Qualifying

MOHNTON, Pa. (September 16, 2005) – Tony Pedregon, driver of the Q Racing
Nitro Funny Car, captured the fourth qualifying position after two rounds of
the 21st annual NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.

Pedregon started the Reading weekend clicking off a 4.801-second elapsed
time at 318.84 mph during the late pass of the day. The 2003 NHRA Champion
put together two solid runs, demonstrating the Q Racing Teamıs hard work
during 
the last two weeks.

“Tomorrow’s weather conditions will determine how we decide to run,”
Pedregon said. “There is still a lot of horsepower left in the Q car, and I
feel we have not yet scratched the surface of what we are capable of doing.

“I definitely do not take qualifying for granted, but I keep my focus on
Sunday’s rounds. We’ve worked hard to bring together performance and
consistency and it is beginning to pay off.”
