Collins & Aikman and Customers Agree to Extend Filing Deadline

TROY, Mich., Sept. 15 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation (CKCRQ.PK) announced today that it has reached an agreement with its major customers to extend the deadline to complete contract renegotiations until no later than September 22, 2005. A court hearing has been scheduled for September 30, 2005 to review those motions, if necessary.

Commenting on the negotiations, John R.
