Singled-Out: PPG Total Service Solutions Awarded Custom Solvent Business For New Venture Holdings LLC

TROY, Mich., Sept. 15 -- PPG Total Service Solutions - a PPG business that provides manufacturers with a range of products and services for the coatings application process and related chemical management - was recently awarded the paint purge and reducer business for automotive supplier New Venture Holdings LLC.

As part of the agreement, effective in June, Total Service Solutions will supply its custom-blended purge and reducing solvents to the Grand Blanc, Mich., plant operated by New Venture Holdings - a global supplier of interior and exterior automotive plastic trim parts.

Total Service Solutions chemists at the PPG Piedmont facility in Troy, Mich. worked to formulate the custom-blended solvents to provide more value than traditional products used to complete jobs such as purging automatic paint equipment, booth maintenance, paint detackification and paint line cleaning.

The purge solvent to be provided to New Venture can be used on all of their coatings on all paint lines. The single solvent replaces a system that needed three different purges. It offers better performance, cost savings and lower volatile organic compound (VOC) and hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions than traditional, non-customized solvents.

The PPG custom-blended reducers have been formulated to meet the exact reducing specifications from paint suppliers, therefore eliminating the possibility of inexact mixing for New Venture, while offering quality assurance, cost savings and reduced manpower in the paint kitchen.
