Solutia Announces Price Increases for Vydyne(R) and Ascend(R)

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 15 -- Effective Oct. 1, 2005, Solutia Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SOLUQ) will implement a price increase across all grades of its Ascend(R) nylon polymers and Vydyne(R) nylon molding resins worldwide. This will be an increase of 10 percent in North America; $220 per metric ton in Asia; and 20 euro cents per kilogram in Europe. Sustained increases in raw material, transportation and energy costs have made this price increase necessary.
