Gentex Shipping Auto-Dimming Mirrors for 2006 Citroen

ZEELAND, Mich., Sept. 13 -- Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, is shipping interior and exterior auto-dimming mirrors for the 2006 Citroen C6, PSA's new luxury passenger car. The vehicle features a three- mirror, automatic-dimming system in which the interior and two exterior rearview mirrors dim in response to glare.

Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.

The C6 will be sold in Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and the Persian Gulf. An interior auto-dimming mirror will be standard equipment on models in the majority of the markets where the vehicles are sold. Two exterior auto-dimming mirrors will be optional and standard on the top two trim levels.

"This is the first vehicle at Citroen to offer exterior auto-dimming mirrors, and only the second in the PSA group," stated Gentex Executive Vice President Garth Deur. "This program also represents the first three-mirror system supplied by Gentex in France. We are pleased to be featured on Citroen's flagship vehicle."

Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation is an international company that provides high-quality products to the worldwide automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Based in Zeeland, Michigan, the Company develops, manufactures and markets interior and exterior automatic-dimming automotive rearview mirrors that utilize proprietary electrochromic technology to dim in proportion to the amount of headlight glare from trailing vehicle headlamps.
