Hybrid Fuel Systems Completes Phase One of Dallas County School Bus Fleet Conversion
TAMPA, Fla.--Sept. 13, 2005--Hybrid Fuel Systems, Inc. (OTC:HYFS), a manufacturer and distributor of diesel and gasoline conversion systems, announced today the completion of Phase I of the Dallas County School System Bus Fleet Conversion project. When completed, Hybrid will have converted 71 school buses for the Dallas County School System."Projects such as the Dallas County school system fit within our trademarked No School Bus Left Behind Initiative,"(TM)" said Hybrid CEO Mark Clancy. "The high cost of diesel and gas as compared to the low cost of natural gas and propane makes this a perfect time for school systems with tight budgets to consider conversions. The harmful effects of diesel particularly with children are well documented and today, most buses use diesel fuel. In today's world, the decision to convert a school bus to a cleaner burning fuel doesn't just save lives, it saves money," concluded Mr. Clancy.
The Company also participated in a portion of the conversion project for the Portland Oregon School District and the results translate into a real tangible savings.
"I feel terrible for other school districts because their budgets are taking such a huge hit on fuel costs," said Phil Weber, Fleet Maintenance Manager from Portland Oregon School District. "With the current increases in fuel costs the reasons for conversion became even more evident. Portland School District's fuel saving this year alone is over $1,000,000; our cost of propane is $1.10 per gallon compared to diesel at $2.69. It does not take long to recoup the initial capitol and ongoing costs of a propane conversion in today's fuel market."
