Valeo at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show - The Future Starts Here
FRANKFURT, Germany, September 13 -- The Frankfurt Motor Show represents a major opportunity for Valeo to showcase its latest automotive technologies to the general public. Many of these technologies, drawn from Valeo's three Domains, Driving Assistance, Comfort Enhancement and Powertrain Efficiency, are now available on production vehicles.
Valeo systems specified on new models
Highlights of Valeo's stand include the Start-Stop system which reduces fuel consumption by 10 to 15% and is available on the Citroën C3 Stop&Start and the award winning Lane Departure Warning System now available on the Citroën C4 and C5 and Infiniti FX and M45. This active safety system alerts the driver to take corrective action in the event of unintentional lane departures. The new Audi Q7, BMW 1 Series, Opel Vectra and Volkswagen Passat all feature Valeo's directional Xenon lighting systems that make a valuable contribution to road safety by doubling night-time visibility of the road ahead.
These systems are destined to become standard features on many more vehicles in the future as car buyers demand enhanced safety, comfort and driving pleasure combined with improved vehicle performance through reduced fuel consumption, noise and pollutant emissions.
V360, or the pleasures of safe driving
A major leap forward in driving safety was the aim of engineers from Valeo's Driving Assistance Domain as they worked to create the car of the future. The result is a demonstrator vehicle, christened the V360, which displays the Group's expertise in system design and integration using a wide range of leading edge technologies - radar, cameras, ultrasound, electroluminescent diodes, infrared vision, and power and control electronics.
This highly innovative and unique vehicle is fitted with ten driving assistance systems that combine to offer drivers 360degrees vision of the environment around the vehicle.
"With V360, the driver can take a step into the future today and experience the car of the next decade, a car endowed with a sixth sense for safety," said Thierry Morin, Valeo Chairman & Chief Executive Officer.
