Trunk Opening and Closure Using a Compact and Invisible Intelligent System

FRANKFURT, Germany, September 13 -- Valeo presents the Ipso(TM) Power Closure System, which facilitates access to the trunk, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition to functions developed to meet the needs of drivers who use their trunk frequently, this system is particularly compact, facilitating its integration into any vehicle. This modular control unit now equips the new Audi A6 Avant and the Volkswagen Passat estate.

The automatic opening and closure system for trunks and tailgates is operated by remote control, either directly on the door handle or from the driver's seat.

Clean, rapid and effortless loading and unloading with no risk of injury

This module, which features patented, three-position electromagnetic technology (motorization, position hold, manual operation), uses sophisticated electronics which enable the driver to memorize the opening position.

Safe opening and closure are ensured via an obstacle detection device.
