Frankfurt Auto Show to Showcase a Wide Array of Newcomers

Frankfurt September 12, 2005; The AIADA newsleter reported that the always huge Frankfurt Auto show will today start its three-day press preview with a significant gathering of leaders of General Motors, DaimlerChrysler AG and BMW AG to mark a joint hybrid drive system development agreement. An article in today’s Detroit News says that with Frankfurt being a European show, a flood of new compact cars is to be expected throughout. The roll call includes key new-generation versions of Honda’s Civic, Toyota Yaris, Renault’s Clio, Hyundai Getz and Fiat’s Punto. A newcomer to segment is the Nissan Note. The Frankfurt Auto Show officially opens on Thursday, September 15 and runs through September 25.
