Tokyo (JCN) - Mitsubishi Motors has debuted the Lancer Evolution Wagon at its dealer showrooms across Japan on September 7. The first station wagon model in the Lancer Evolution series, the Lancer Evolution Wagon uses the body side panels and roof panel of the Lancer Wagon with reinforcement mainly focused on the rear end to give a lightweight and yet very stiff vehicle body.

The powertrain mates a 2.0-liter intercooler-turbocharged engine to an electronically controlled 4WD driveline to enable unparalleled vehicle dynamics for a station wagon.

The vehicle is available in two types, the GT and the GT-A, and will be produced in a limited run of a combined total of 2,500 units. Production will cease at the end of December.

The GT and the GT-A sell for 3,465,000 yen ($31,500) and 3,412,500 yen ($31,000), respectively.
