Vodafone to Ship Handset to Enable GPS-based Navigation Overseas

Tokyo Sept 9, 2005; Aki Tsukioka writing for JCN reported that Vodafone announced on September 7 the early October launch of the Vodafone 903T, the world's first 3G handset capable of network-assisted GPS navigation both in Japan and abroad.

Made by Toshiba, the handset features a 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) LCD and a 1.29-megapixel auto-focus mobile camera. The 903T measures 50x111x25mm and weighs 149g.

It supports continuous talk times of 180 minutes in W-CDMA and 320 minutes in GSM, and stanby times of 400 and 270 hours, respectively.
