Rush Enterprises to Open a New State-of-the-Art, Full-Service Truck Dealership in the Nashville Area

SAN ANTONIO--Sept. 8, 2005--Rush Enterprises, Inc. (Listed on NASDAQ(R): RUSHA & RUSHB), which operates the largest network of heavy-duty and medium-duty truck dealerships in North America, today announced plans for the grand opening open house of its largest Rush Truck Center, Rush Peterbilt Truck Center, Nashville.

Rush Peterbilt Truck Center, Nashville will be a massive, 120,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility offering numerous customer services and amenities. The new truck dealership, which is located in Smyrna, Tennessee approximately 30 miles southeast of Nashville off I-24, will celebrate its grand opening with a major open house event on October 7th and 8th. The new Rush Peterbilt Truck Center will replace our existing Rush Truck Center in Nashville.

The two-day grand opening open house will feature a live performance by the award-winning country singer Lorrie Morgan; appearances by the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders; live broadcasts on XM Satellite Radio's Open Road with Dave Nemo, Rusty Wheeler and Marcia Campbell; trucking industry presentations by representatives from Caterpillar, Cummins, Eaton and Peterbilt; and displays of NASCAR race cars sponsored by Caterpillar, Home Depot, Interstate Battery and Mobil 1, and the Werner Enterprises Dragster.

Significant investment

In addition to the investment in property and infrastructure for the new facility, Rush Enterprises will invest more than $12 million in the initial inventory of new and pre-owned trucks, parts, accessories and merchandise.

"Our truck selection, both new and used, will be among the most extensive in North America. Additionally, our inventory of aftermarket supplies will help ensure parts are on-hand to minimize customer downtime."

Rush Enterprises will open its first Chrome Country heavy-duty truck chrome shop at the Rush Peterbilt Truck Center, Nashville. Chrome Country will offer a wide selection of customization products for all truck makes and offer on site installation. Among the products available at Chrome Country are interior and exterior lighting, chrome panels and bars, bumpers, fenders, visors, wings, boxes, exhaust stacks, grilles, horns, handles, knobs and switches, CBs and appliances. According to Mr. Rush, "Chrome Country will satisfy the most enthusiastic truckers looking to customize their trucks."

Additionally, the new Rush Peterbilt Truck Center, Nashville's parts department will be one of the largest in North America with more than 27,000 square feet of bi-level, climate-controlled storage.

-- A 55,000 square foot air-conditioned service department with 40 work bays and the latest diagnostic and repair tools and technologies and a wireless network that allows technicians to order parts and access manuals and other resources without leaving their work area, helping expedite repairs.

-- A full-service 16-bay body shop with a frame machine that is capable of handling most any heavy-duty truck frame adjustment and the latest paint application equipment including a clean-room environment for extremely high-quality paint jobs.

-- A 2,400 square foot driver's lounge that features two big-screen televisions, a fully equipped kitchen, leather lounge chairs and a designated quiet area.
