TONY HULMAN "FALL HARVEST CLASSIC"
FORMAT SET FOR SEPT. 30-OCT. 1 TERRE HAUTE SPRINTS

             Race organizer Jamie Reed and USAC Officials have finalized 
the format for the Sept. 30-Oct. 1 Valvoline USAC National Sprint Car 
weekend at the famed Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track.

             In an unprecedented move, the "Fall Harvest Classic" and "Tony 
Hulman Classic" races have been combined in one dynamic weekend of Thunder 
& Lightning Sprint Car racing on the lightning-fast 1/2-mile dirt oval, 
titled the "Tony Hulman Fall Harvest Classic."

             Each night will comprise a complete program of events, with a 
20-lapper concluding Friday's program and the 35th Annual 30-lap "Tony 
Hulman Fall Harvest Classic" ending Saturday night's acivities. Complete 
preliminaries each night will include practice, qualifying, heat races and 
semi-features.

             The top-six finishers in Friday's feature will earn automatic 
starting berths in Saturday's "Tony Hulman Fall Harvest Classic" main event 
and will compete in a special heat race Saturday to determine the first six 
starting spots in the 30-lap race.

             The two-night Terre Haute event is expected to impact this 
year's battle for the Valvoline National Championship heavily, with three 
drivers virtually deadlocked for the point lead as of Sept. 1. National 
Championship points will be up for grabs each night, totaling 148 available 
for the weekend.

             Cory Kruseman of Ventura, Calif., USAC's 2005 Valvoline 
"Indiana Sprint Week" Champion, is the defending winner of the "Tony Hulman 
Classic," while Bud Kaeding won last year's "Fall Harvest Classic." Rains 
forced postponement of this year's "Tony Hulman Classic" in May, setting up 
the unique "doubleheader" weekend.

             In addition to series point leaders Levi Jones of Olney, Ill., 
Jay Drake of Val Verde, Calif. and Dave Darland of Lincoln, Ind., drivers 
expected to compete at Terre Haute include USAC National Midget Car point 
leader Josh Wise of Riverside, Calif., Kaeding, Hoosier Auto Racing Fans 
2004 Driver of the Year Jon Stanbrough of Danville, Ind. and a host of 
other Hoosier fan favorites.
