MMC launches station wagon version of popular Lancer Evolution

TOKYO September 8, 2005; Japan Today reported that Mitsubishi Motors Corp on Wednesday introduced a station wagon version of its popular Lancer Evolution for limited sales to test the consumer response, the firm said.

Mitsubishi apparently hopes to take advantage of the Lancer Evolution sedan's past popularity among rally fans to stimulate overall sales, which have been seriously affected by its vehicle defect coverup scandals, analysts said.
