Bloomington Speedway -- September 16, 2005 Racing Program

FINAL SPRINT POINTS AWARD PRESENTATIONS

SPRINT CAR, O'NEAL WOOD PRODUCTS/MONROE COUNTY PIZZA DEPT. MODIFIED, AND TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCK

RACING ACTION ON SEPTEMBER 16

BLOOMINGTON, IN (September 4, 2005) - Bloomington Speedway will host another night of exciting racing action at Bloomington Speedway on Friday, September 16. The evening's racing will feature sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks.

Last weekend our sprint racers ran their final points race for the season. Kevin Briscoe wrapped up his fourth Bloomington Speedway sprint car championship. The balance of the top ten in points are 2. Kenny Carmichael, 3. Brady Short & Bobby Stines (tied), 5. Mitch Cunningham, 6. Steve Rone, 7. Kevin Besecker, 8. Kenny Carmichael, Jr., 9. Jon Sciscoe, 10. Brent Beauchamp and Kent Christian (Tie).

Going into August 26 competition, Kevin Briscoe had already clenched his fourth Bloomington Speedway sprint car championship. Some drivers might take advantage of the situation and stroke it or even take the night off. Kevin and his car owner and father, Dick Briscoe, don't race that way. They race to win. They wanted the win on August 26 as much as they wanted the win the week before and as much as they will want the win on September 16. However, they were out motors so they arranged for Kevin to drive Steve & Brad Fox's sprinter.

Kenny Carmichael finished second after finishing third last season. Carmichael has continued to improve his program; however, the competition at Bloomington Speedway gets tougher every year. Kenny's son, Kenny, Jr., also had a fantastic season. This is almost certainly the first time in the history of Bloomington Speedway that a father and son have both finished in the top ten in the sprint car points.

These drivers, after receiving their awards, will return to their pits, climb in their sprinters, and give the fans another exciting race for the final time this season. Don't miss it.

The final points standings for the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modified and Tire & Wheel Center super stock divisions will be determined Friday night. Jesse Cramer (modified) and Ben Danny Harris (super stock) are both poised to win their first Bloomington Speedway championship. However, neither championship has been clenched yet. Spirited competition for every position in the points standings of these two classes can be expected.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event (children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult); and pit admission is $20. Coolers are permitted; but glass containers aren't. Overnight camping is also permitted.
