Daramic Announces Global Energy Surcharge

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 2 -- In order to address increases in the cost of processing oil, natural gas and energy, Daramic will implement a global energy surcharge of 6% effective October 1, 2005 or as soon as contractually allowable in certain cases.

"Increases in the cost of oil and energy have unfortunately become a significant issue for Daramic, as well as for many other companies," said Tucker Roe, Daramic Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "While Daramic is dedicated to controlling costs through continuous improvements in efficiency and productivity, unprecedented increases in these costs have been too large for Daramic to absorb. Accordingly, we must implement this surcharge to support our continued commitment to new product development and providing best-in-class quality, supply and product performance."
