UAW President to Offer Economic Strategy at Detroit Economic Club Meeting

DETROIT, Sept. 1 -- Ron Gettelfinger, President, International Union, UAW, will address members and guests at the next Detroit Economic Club meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2005. In his speech, titled "The High Road: A Progressive Economic Strategy for America," Mr. Gettelfinger will offer a plan for making the economy work for all Americans.

The luncheon will be held at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Boulevard, and will run from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The DEC was established in 1934, and is recognized worldwide for its contribution to the discussion and promotion of economic, political and social issues. The club has nearly 2,600 members and is recognized as one of the premier speaking forums in the United States.
