Top Figures Gather for Car Design Night of the Year in Frankfurt

LONDON, September 1 -- Senior members of the automotive car design community will be attending the Interior Motives Design Awards 2005 ceremony held at the King Kamehameha Club, Frankfurt on 14 September, during the Frankfurt Show.

Among the special guests will be this year's prestigious judging panel: Olivier Boulay (General Manager, Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Center of Japan, DaimlerChrysler), Guy Burgoyne, (Chief Designer, Interior, Volvo Car Corporation), Bill Fluharty, (VP, Industrial Design and New Product Strategy - North America, Johnson Controls), Tony Hunter, (Assistant Chief Designer, Interior Design, Land Rover), Patrick le Quèment, (Senior VP, Corporate Design, Renault), Roberto Piatti, (Managing Director, Stile Bertone), Marek Reichman, (Director of Design, Aston Martin), Romulus Rost, (Head of Interior Design, Design Centre Europe GmbH), Rus Shafer (Director, Industrial Design, Intier Automotive) and Stéphane Schwarz (Design Director, Nissan Design Europe)

Over 300 entries from more than 40 countries and 51 different design colleges have been submitted, establishing the Awards as a truly global competition. Attendees will have the chance to meet finalists from the world's finest transportation and industrial design courses, as well as the Awards' judging panel.

An exclusive media viewing will take place between 5pm and 7pm where journalists will have the opportunity to interview the finalists and preview their work.

For the rest of the industry, this exciting night will start at 7pm with a cocktail reception, offering an opportunity to view the exhibited entries and meet their creators, as well as catch up with industry colleagues. The awards ceremony itself will follow, where winners of the eight categories and the overall winner will be announced. The festivities will close with food, live music and dancing.
