"LP Gas - Modern Energy Anywhere" Will be the Focus of This Year's World LP Gas Association Forum

PARIS, September 1 -- The World Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association (WLPGA) will hold its 18th Forum in Shanghai on September 14th - 16th. The conference will concentrate on showing how LP Gas, a clean, portable, widely available and easy to use energy, can contribute to building a healthier, more prosperous world.

The WLPGA, voice of the global LP Gas industry, has set up a program for its annual Forum to identify the advantages and economic opportunities that LP Gas can offer to both developing countries and mature markets.

The main topics to be covered by renowned speakers include:

- Sharp growth in the Asian LP Gas market and new development opportunities in this region

- New LP Gas applications and cutting-edge technologies, such as gas cylinder monitoring by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

- Testimony of successful pilot programs for LP Gas market developments, for instance a distribution program in rural and suburban settings in South Africa

- The findings of recently completed studies, including one carried out by a professor from the University of California - Berkeley confirming the benefits of LP Gas compared to traditional fuels in relation to health and the environment

At the Forum, the WLPGA will also issue the latest LP Gas statistics and reports on combating pollution, improving distribution and mitigating climate change, as well as an overview of government incentives to switch to Autogas for use in motor vehicles.

After Shanghai, the 19th WLPGA Forum will be held in Chicago on October 17th - 20th 2006.
