RAIN SCRUBS NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES AT BEECH BEND RACEWAY PARK
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series
event at Beech Bend Raceway Park has been called off because of
continued rain. Eliminations for the event that was originally
scheduled August 26-28, will resume September 29 at the division's next
scheduled race at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio.
Eliminations were slated to run on Sunday and had to be
rescheduled for today due to rain. However, according to NHRA North
Central Division Director Jay Hulling, while officials were working at
getting the track dried for competition the rain started again. "We
were just about 45 minutes away from being ready to run when it started
to rain and, unfortunately, the forecast doesn't look good for today or
the next couple of days," said Hullinger. "The weather just did not
cooperate with us this weekend."
