CRA SPRINTS SET FOR 50 LAPS SATURDAY AT THE PAS KIRBY BEATS GARDNER AND WILLIAMS AT SANTA MARIA

AUGUST 29, 2005

The hotly-contested Valvoline/USAC CRA Sprint Car Championship
continues this Saturday night with a big 50-lap feature slated at the
Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. The top two in the standings are separated
by a mere 10 points!

Mike Kirby of Torrance, Calif. held off point leaders Rip
Williams and Damion Gardner to win last Saturday's 30-lapper at the Santa
Maria (Calif.) Speedway driving the L.A. Prep/LaVilla Restaurant
Stinger/RC. Gardner, who earlier in the evening posted his 17th fast
qualifying time of the season, finished second and Williams was third ahead
of Rickie Gaunt and Rodney Argo.

The finish left defending series titlist Williams holding a
slim 10-point lead over Gardner, with Kirby still third in the standings.
