WISE CONTINUES TO LEAD POINTS AFTER TRI-CITY WIN "HALL OF FAME CLASSIC" IS HATTON'S 1ST USAC TRIUMPH

             Josh Wise of Riverside, Calif., maintained a 68-point lead 
over runner-up Jerry Coons Jr. in the USAC National Midget Car Series 
following a victory and a seventh-place finish is series action last week. 
The series resumes Sept. 23-24 with the "4-Crown Nationals" at the Eldora 
Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

             Wise piloted the Tony Stewart Racing Mopar/Vital Express 
Beast/Mopar to victory Wednesday night at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon 
Beach (Granite City), Ill., leading the final 10 laps of the 30-lap race 
after passing Dave Darland for the lead on lap 21. Darland finished second 
ahead of Mike Hess, Cole Carter and Levi Jones.

             Scott Hatton of Roscoe, Ill. earned his initial USAC National 
Midget win in Saturday night's National Midget Auto Racing "Hall of Fame 
Classic" opener at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. Hatton led all 
30 laps in the Pepsi/RG Huston Company Stealth/Mopar to beat Brad Kuhn, 
Jerry Coons Jr., Ryan Durst and Tracy Hines. Kuhn won Sunday night's 25-lap 
"Hall of Fame Classic" Badger Midget race at Sun Prairie and claimed the 
overall two-race title.
