SPRINT POINT RACE IDLE UNTIL "4-CROWN NATIONALS" DRAKE #1 AT TRI-CITY; EAST CLAIMS "PARNELLI JONES CLASSIC"

AUGUST 29, 2005

The torrid battle for supremacy in USAC's 2005 Valvoline
National Sprint Car Series will resume September 23-24 when the "4-Crown
Nationals" unfolds at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Combatants
Levi Jones, Jay Drake and Dave Darland are a mere 30 points apart heading
into the Eldora shootout.

Drake, of Val Verde, Calif., and Bobby East of Brownsburg,
Ind., captured series victories during last week's action. Drake won
Wednesday night's 30-lap feature at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach
(Granite City), Ill., while East won Saturday afternoon's inaugural
"Parnelli Jones Classic" at The Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin.

Drake, in defense of his 2004 series title, temporarily
regained the series point lead with his victory at Tri-City Speedway in the
Tony Stewart Racing Mopar/Vital Express Eagle/Mopar. He passed Bud Kaeding
on lap four and led the rest of the 30-lap race to beat Kaeding, Bill Rose,
Jerry Coons Jr. and Justin Marvel.

East led wire-to-wire to win the first USAC Sprint race at the
Milwaukee Mile in 45 years, driving the Klatt Enterprises Ford Performance
Parts/The Car Lot Beast/Gaerte Ford. Dave Steele finished second and was
followed by Michael Lewis, Kaeding and Ron Gregory.

Jones finished sixth at Tri-City and was 13th at Milwaukee and
emerged with a 23-point lead over Drake, who missed the Milwaukee race due
to competing in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series race at Sonoma, Calif.
