TOP 3 SQUARE OFF IN SUNDAY'S "TED HORN 100"
AT THE DuQUOIN STATE FAIRGROUNDS

Sunday night's "Ted Horn 100" at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State
Fairgrounds features a showdown between the top three drivers in the USAC
Weld Racing Silver Crown Series standings. Dave Steele of Tampa, Fla., Josh
Wise of Riverside, Calif. and Brian Tyler of Parma, Mich. are separated by
only 60 points and 66 are available in the series' penultimate race. The
series concludes Sept. 23-24 at Rossburg, Ohio.

Steele is the defending series champion but finished 17th in
last year DuQuoin 100-miler, one lap behind winner Tyler Walker. Wise, only
14 points in arrears and a Silver Crown rookie, leads the 2005 USAC
National Midget Series standings and won the Silver Crown race earlier this
season at Terre Haute, Ind. Tyler finished second at DuQuoin last year but
comes to DuQuoin on a high note after winning the Aug. 20 "Tony
Bettenhausen 100" at Springfield, Ill. Tyler trails Steele by 60 points.

Steele and Wise will compete in cars owned by NASCAR Nextel
Cup point leader and USAC Triple Crown Champion Tony Stewart, the
winningest car owner in Silver Crown history. Noted car builder Bob East
co-owns Steele's mount. Tyler pilots the Team Six-R entry.

The fastest 20 qualifiers and the top-10 finishers from
Sunday's "qualifying race" will start the 100-mile classic, along with
possible provisionals.

Walker established the 1-lap qualifying mark of 123.550 mph
last year at the Magic Mile and Johnny Parsons, who hopes to make his 145th
career series start Sunday, holds the 100-mile race record of 107.047 mph,
set in 1992.

In addition to Walker (2004) and Parsons (1992 and 1995),
former DuQuoin champions expected to compete include Rich Tobias Jr.
(2003), Paul White (2001), Tony Elliott (1999) and Russ Gamester (1997).
